Raven's Tonsils

As most of you know, Raven had her tonsils out on Monday June 23rd. I know I'm late posting this, but there's a 2 week recovery time and then life got crazy!!! So here are the pics!





This is Raven in her special surgery pjs... The girls were so well-behaved this morning! They even colored together without arguing, fighting, bossing, tattling, crying, etc!!! YAY!!!



Daddy even got to wear his special surgery pjs too! He got to be the one to go back to the surgery room this time, because I had to be the one to go back with Riahna in September! You can go to the archives and look in September for me in my special surgery pjs!!!

And this was just a cute pic of the way they put their heads together to color. It was pretty cute!
And this is Daddy! He looked silly in those scrubs, so the girls got some good laughs at him!
Riahna thought that Lucas was pretty weird in his scrubs... She just wasn't sure what was up!

This is the nurse doing all the pre-op stuff with Raven... Raven answered most of her own questions even, just like a big girl!!!! And this is the picture of THE MOMENT!!! The one when they called Raven's name to go back!!!

And this is my baby after surgery... She was awake one minute, then gone the next, then back like nothing happened! She ate some ice cream, a popsicle, and some ice chips... Oh, and she drank some Sprite... She was such a big girl!!! And doesn't she just look pitiful??? She was really swollen, so you can see that under her chin and in her cheeks is pretty big... The nurse said she hadn't seen anyone swell up that big before, but it was all gone that first day! She just looks so sad!!! But she was so nice to her nurses!
And this was Riahna after that big day! She got to go home with Memaw and spend the whole day and the nite, too! She thought she was big stuff, but we needed her gone so we could concentrate on Raven... But Riahna sure missed Raven! She got that sucker at the bank or something, and then fell asleep with it in her mouth... She ended up taking her whole nap with it in her mouth! And there was a big puddle of sticky drool to show for it!!!

So, thanks to all of you for your support and wishes! We had a really rough time for a while. Lucas took off the day of surgery and then the next day, but then he had to go back to work... We had to give her the pain medicine every 3.5 hours, even throughout the nite. It was rough! And she had some really REALLY stinky breath! And she was in pain a lot! She didn't eat anything for the first 11 days! It was crazy! And then on the Thursday the week after surgery, she ate a little, and started getting back to normal! Then, 2 weeks later, at her post op appointment, she was given a clean bill of health and was told that she could eat anything she wanted! YAY!!! We took her out for chips and salsa that nite, since she wasn't able to eat any chips at all before and also nothing spicy! So we are all so happy that she's over this! YAY!!!
