Golf Pros!

As you all know, there's not much to do around Pittsburg, and even less to do in the morning and/or with children! Since this is a college town, lots of "activities" are college-aged activities -- bar hopping, tailgating, watching the game (whatever is in season), and hanging out with friends.

One Saturday morning in July, we had nothing to do and we were pretty bored, so we took the girls miniature golfing. Lucas was so excited to get to "golf" and show the girls how fun it could be! This is him explaining the idea of the game... This is how it went... "Now, we all have a different colored ball and you want to put your ball down there in that hole... Riahna! No! Come back here! You have to put the ball down here and then you hit it with this club! Raven!!! Hit the ball, not your sister!!!! Riahna!!! Put your club on the ground, we don't swing in the air!!! Ok, now, Daddy's going to go first to show you how to do it... Riahna! We don't throw these kind of balls!" You get the idea!!!

We gave up and just let Riahna run around and put her ball in the holes...

So, in the end, we learned lots of lessons... 18 holes for two small children, even though it's mini golf, was an unlikely goal! We can't all get to golf, cause there needs to be a designated kid-chaser! July is not a good time to golf, cause it's freakin hot and makes little girls miserable!!! And the last, and maybe most important lesson... Daddy should not use miniature golf as an excuse to get us to the course, in the hopes of hitting a bucket of balls! It doesn't work!!!

But, it was lots of fun, and Raven loved it... I think Lucas is going to take her to hit some range balls sometime soon!
