Health Update

Well, a few of you already know this, but I just wanted to update everyone. If you were expecting to hear from us this weekend and you didn't, there's a reason... And, it's a good one! Lucas had a training workshop in Tulsa on Friday, so he left the house at 6:15am Friday morning and wasn't home until about 7pm that nite. He wasn't feeling that great, but it was just a headache, which is normal for him.

On Saturday, we were really trying to get rid of his Cadillac, but it didn't happen... There was a huge, stinky mouse nest in it and the whole car reeked!!! By the time we got home, he felt like crap...

But on Sunday morning, he got up at 6am and was too sore to stay laying down. Then, just 10 or 15 minutes later, I woke back up to the sound of hurling! UGH! He kept throwing up until about 10am. It was so bad that he floated between the bed and the couch with a frozen wash cloth on his head... He couldn't handle any noise (we never have noise in our house!!!), any light, or really any movement. I took the girls outside and let him hang out in the dark, quiet house for a bit.

By 4 in the afternoon, he wasn't any better, so we decided he was going to the hospital. At the hospital, they didn't tell us what he had, but they immediately put an IV in and gave him a shot of Benedryl, a painkiller, and an anti-nausea intraveinously, along with a liter of fluid. That seemed to help a lot. They let us go home after sitting there for 3 hours! And he felt much better!

He's feeling better today, but he did stay home from work! He'll be going back tomorrow to work, even though he still has a small headache. The dr at the hospital was awesome, and she told us to come back asap if the headache returned full force.

So, things here are better, but they weren't good this weekend! Throw in a teething toddler, busted lip, whiney kids, and a crabby, crampy, tired mommy who's playing nursemaid, and it always gets interesting!
