Kindergarten Open House

The nite before kindergarten started, we got to go see Raven's classroom, meet some of her fellow students, and most importantly, meet her teacher... Her teacher, Mr. Taylor, is a friend of Daddy's from Coffeyville, so there's some major history there, as well as trust and respect, so that's nice!

Lucas had signed up for 3 or 4 events in the city-wide Corporate Olympics and one or two of his events happened to take place over the Open House time, so Daddy didn't get to go this nite... He did make up for it and go the next morning with us, though! But we took Memaw and Gpa Jerry, so we didn't *really* miss Daddy at all! Hahaha! But here are the pics from it!

This is Raven's desk... Yes, she's a back row student, but as far as classroom theory goes, students perform better in the front row UNLESS they are an A student, and then they will perform at the A level wherever you sit them! Haha!

Mr. Taylor LOVES SpongeBob SquarePants!!! Raven wants to get him something for Christmas with SpongeBob, but as you can see, that might be difficult! This is the SpongeBob corner, but this is not all the SpongeBob in the room! The shelves under SpongeBob are the cubbies, where backpacks and coats and lunches live... Raven's headband likes to live there too, cause "it hurts my ears!" (That's code for - I got in trouble for messing with it!!! Hahahahahahaha!!!!)
And this is Mr. Taylor, the most wonderful kindergarten teacher in the world!!! Raven LOVES him!!! He's soooo good to the kids, and he's so laid back and likeable. And he hugs all the kids! Whenever they come back from a weekend, or they look like they're having a bad day, he gets to give them hugs! How nice is that? This is Raven showing Gpa Jerry how a balance scale works... But she's not really sure either!

This was the bulletin board welcoming us to kindergarten! Raven found hers right of the bat!
