A day in the life...

So, a few of you have heard about our weekend... Lucas brought home some bubble wrap a few days ago so that I could pack up a package to ship. The girls found one length of it, and stretched it out down the hallway to jump on. They were having fun and being good, so Lucas and I went into the kitchen to make dinner...

Then, we hear Raven started screaming. All kids have different cries and screams, and this one was her "I'm severely hurt" scream, so we both ran around the corner to get to her... And she looked terrible. The bubble wrap had slipped out from under her and she fell, head first, on the tile... Just in the time it took us to get her and get ice, she had a golfball on her forehead! We iced it and it seemed manageable, until she took the ice off to eat... It kept swelling and getting worse.

Three hours after it happened, we finally took her to the emergency room, because it just kept swelling and getting worse. They watched her for a while and did a CAT scan on her. The scan showed that there was no bleeding or swelling on the brain, and that there were no chips or fractures, so we got to go home... She did have a pretty decent headache for a couple of days!

Here's what she looks like 3 days later!!!

uh-huh, likely story! has anyone told her that she just puts eye shadow on the top of her eyes and not all around them and on her forehead???

well, we KNOW what really happened, as we saw her at the time. i think she's beautiful anyway -- with black eyes or not.

just like her mommy, though, having 1 or 2 black eyes when she was little. just couldn't convince her not to spin around and around near the coffee table!!! always hard to explain to others and you feel so self-conscious!

we love you all!!!
